The Shins - Simple Song

James Mercer as the (dead) and much hated head of the family from hell... leaving a videotaped will and setting the potential heirs on a mad race to the actual deed. Great concept. Can't wait to see them live, March 23.

Metric and New Album, “Synthetica”

How cool is that. Metric are going to put out a new album, "Synthetica", on June 12. "Fantasies" were a great work of art, and as I found out, the first to make it to the US Top 20 without the iron hand of major label. Although the title "Synthetica" is a bit cheesy, there's a cool concept behind it, Emily as Blade Runner-type replicant, the ultimate glitzy pop start, like a Lady Gaga of her own sort. Go team Emily!

Mouse On Mars – Polaroyced

Mouse on Mars "Polaroyced" by Modeselektor

From the first electronic band I've ever listened to. The German veterans are still ready and able. This is the outtake from their 10th (!) studio album. You can listen to previews of all the songs here:

They're talking about you, but you're still the same

Emmdee abd I have just watched Drive. I know, confessions of the late user. But it's been so long since any film has made chills creep up my spine.

Good M83 Cover, Bad M83 Cover

M83 are coming to my hometown pretty soon. Meanwhile, I stumbled upon one bad cover and one good cover of their 2011 banger "Midnight City".
Bad news first?
Midnight City (M83 Cover)

And good news:
Midnight City feat. Mandy Lee (M83 Cover)
Mandy Lee's so much better than Anthony Gonzales himself.

I wanna see what the sky looks like from your room

That's what Kate Bush of 2012 would sound like. I'd squeeze that girl onto Burn Selector Festival if I could.
